Kobe the sales man.

Kobe came home yesterday and said his school was selling cookie dough and a few other things, and he wanted to know if he could ask Grandma and Grandpa if they wanted to buy some. Sure, no big deal. He goes upstairs where grandma and grandpa are eating dinner. Nile happened to be scrapping the last of the peanut butter. Kobe says, " Have you ever been without food, or gone hungry?" Nile said yeah actually I'm out of peanut butter, Kobe being the quick thinker he is says, " Boy do I have the thing for you?" You can buy these peanut butter bears for only 5 dollars. And grandma have you ever wanted to taste the world's finest chocolate, if so I have the thing for you too. " They told him what they thought sounded good, and off he went to write it down. He went back up a little while later and told them he had them down for those two things, and wondered if they wanted cookie dough also.

Needless to say, he has called all my family, and some friends. He loves to get involved, when it comes to a prize that benefits him. Thanks to everyone who bought " Something " from him.

Private!

Okay, so I think by the first of Dec we are going private. Please if you would like to continue to read along leave me your e-mail. I will check it often and delete as often as I can. I have really pondered about this, and I don't want to put my kids in any unnecessary danger. I hope I'm just being silly, but its such a crazy world we live in and the risks are not worth it. :)

Randy's Elk..

Okay so here it is. This stupid thing made us have a weeks worth of torture. We are glad that he was successful and even better that he's home with us. I don't have to worry to much about having it hanging in my house yet. As most of you know I don't have a house. But he did however take it to get mounted. So I am sure I will have to give in and except that creature as a wall decoration. Oh well. Nice job babe!! We are proud of you. CAUTION: If you have a week stomach you might not want to look at the pictures!

Notice his bloody hands in the back ground? Knowing Randy, he ate his nasty oyster's after he gutted his elk. That's making my stomach turn just by thinking about it.

He was so proud! It took a lot of hiking, and sitting in the cold to find him. Randy would say it was well worth it. I guess it depends on who you ask.

Randy's dad had to go up with the Mules and get the Elk off the mountain. Thanks Nile! :) All in all he had a great hunt, we are extremely glad he is back. While he was gone I only bought 2 pairs of shoes, a new purse, more body spray and several things of lotion.. Maybe next time he won't stay so long. I think I shop when I'm depressed..

Spare Key!

Okay so what good does a spare key do if it's up hunting with Randy?? Not much! Today I was at my mom's house we were getting ready to go, I sent the kids out to the car so I could round everything up and leave. While I am trying to get everything together, Ash ( my little darling) is out in the car honking like crazy. Bennett comes in all stressed out cause she is going to ruin our honker ( his exact words) . So I go out there as Ash is shutting the door. She has this big smile on her face and she says, " Ha ha I locked your car, so you can't get in." Sure enough, she locked the doors, with the keys inside. So me, being the mom of the year, spanked her butt. She laughs and says that didn't hurt, so I spanked her again, and again she says that didn't hurt either. So I gave her a LOVE tap with my foot, she says, GEES what was that for?? UGGGGG!! Will she ever get it? So my car is sitting at my mom's and she is now 1 car short! Thanks mom!! Can I tell you it has been a really long week. I can not wait until I have my husband back. Good news is he shot is ELK, and he is very happy about it. Bad news is I'm sure its gonna have to be hung up on our wall somewhere, unless I can talk him into hanging it in the garage. Hopefully he will be home soon, we are going on a week and its killing us! For Ashtyn's sake he better be home soon!!

Happy 8th Birthday Kobe!

Isn't this the cutest picture, he was only 7 months old.

I can not believe Kobe is turning 8. It seems like yesterday we brought him home from the hospital scared to death not knowing what to do. Kobe was born at 10:01 pm on Nov 10, 2000. He weighed 8lbs 10 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long. He was stubborn from day one. I had actually gone into labor with him on the 9Th at about 8 pm. I remember i was having contracts all day long, I had our house cleaned, the grocery shopping done, and the truck cleaned by 9:00 am. Randy came home from work around 5 and we still had to go and get Kobe's dresser from RC Willey's. We went and picked it up and brought it to our house. Randy looked at me and said, Do you really want to go into labor tonight? Yes are you kidding me. So he said, help me carry this in the house and unpack it. Okay!! We carry it in the house, I get it all situated while Randy gets in the shower. Man, was I starting to hurt even more. But I was young and dumb, I just thought I hurt my back while lifting it in the house. My sister Shay called and was talking to me, she noticed that every couple of minutes I would tell her to hold on while i grunted and held my breath. She told me I was in labor and needed to get to the hospital. Randy got out off the shower and seen me laying on the bed and knew it was that time. We rushed to the hospital. Of course my doctor was out of town so they gave me some medicine to make me comfortable and said they would be back in the morning. Neither one of us were able to sleep. My doctor finally came in around 9 and broke my water, ( which is very uncomfortable, and embarrassing) . HE told me I would have him by about 4 pm. Around 2:00 pm I got my epidural, and was able to sleep a little. At about 3 I was in really bad pain, I could feel everything. It was horrible!! They thought they had just missed my spine so they tried again, SO now we are on Epidural #2. It worked for about 15 minutes. I was able to lift my leg everything, so they decided to just give me a pain shot every 15 minutes. They said my metabolism burned the medicine too quick for it to work, yeah whatever! By this point it was about 6:30 and the doctor wanted me to start pushing. After pushing for 2 1/2 hours straight they realized his head ( yes his head) was too big and he was not going to be able to come out. I started dilating backwards. So at 9:00 they prepped us for an emergency C-section. Which is a hole different story! I was not numb at all, I could feel everything. I seriously thought I was going to die. I remember the look on Randy's face as he was seeing the pain I was in, and seeing the doctors hold me down and try talking to me to keep me alert and awake. But also watching his first born child come into this world. As soon as they were able to get Kobe out they knocked me out. I wasn't able to be with him for several hours after he was born. I finally remember about 2 am getting to my room and there sat Randy with Kobe in his arms. He was so proud. I on the other did not want anything to do with him. Like I said he has been stubborn from day one.
Kobe has been so fun over the years. He loves to be outdoors, he loves to go fishing and hunting. He is very athletic. He loves sports. He is good at anything he tries. Kobe is our little clown. He loves to make people laugh. He loves to tease his brothers and sister. Kobe absolutely loves desserts. He is a HUGE ice cream fan. He would have that for every meal if we would let him. He can be easily bribed by a bowl of Ice cream with 4 scoops.
He has many friends. He loves spending time with Colton, his cousin. They can do some real damage when they are together. Kobe is also the type of person that will follow the rules exactly, but he will also be the first to bend them when they do not benefit him. He loves his sleep. He can sleep until 10:30 or 11:00 on Saturdays if we let him. He loves to lounge around in his under ware. Some of his nicknames are: Boges, Chubbies, Rubes, Carlson, and Kobo's
We are so thankful that we have been blessed to have him in our family. He is a great little boy,and we are looking forward to many more birthdays and fun memories with him. We love you very much boges, happy birthday!
Here are some of our fun memories with Kobe! (All my babies pictures of him are stored away.)

No Power.

So today we had a unique experience. Our power went out Saturday around 11:00 pm and it was out all night long. I woke up expecting the power to be back on. Much to my surprise it wasn't. I went up to talk to my mother in law to see what the plan was for church. ( since my father in law is the Bishop, i thought she would have a good idea as to what they were going to do.) She said they were planning on just doing sacrament if it doesn't come on. So back down I went to get ready. Which is kinda hard to do living in a basement and all. Luckily the only 3 rooms that have windows are the rooms we needed to be in to get ready. So we got ready, which didn't take much time for me, going to church with wet hair slicked back didn't take much effort. We got to church walked down the halls in darkness. Got to the Chapel, and all the lights we had were 2 flashlights . You had to try really hard to hear what was being said. It was really neat to be sitting there. It doesn't really matter what the circumstance are, the gospel is true. I know that times are going to get harder but we have to remember that no matter what happens we have a Savior who loves us and wants the best for us. It's amazing how lucky we are to live in this day and time.
The power did end up coming on right as we were finishing up Sacrament meeting, so we were able to go to the rest of church. My kids were hoping to go home. Oh well, this was a great experience and I'm glad we got to be there and be apart of this unique situation. It makes me realize I need to be better prepared for a major disaster,or even a minor thing like this.

Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween. We did our ward trunk or treat on Wednesday. So Friday we were able to have a good time and enjoy ourselves. My mom had a party for all the grand kids. She goes all out. The kids look forward to it every year. She had her house all decorated, and clues for the kids to come and find her. While they were trying to find her we had kids crying, a picture fell off the wall and broke( which was great sound effects) .
Here's the all gang dressed up and ready to go inside grandma's spooky house. They were all so cute, and some scary. That would be both my boys, the wanted to the mean and gorie monsters.

I felt bad after this picture. Kobe kept telling me there was a bee in his hat. I told him there was no way possible that a bee would get through everything he had one, so I made him stay there and take the picture. After the picture he stared bawling, the BEE stung me!! I took off his hat and mask, and sure enough out flies the bee, and he had a big red lump on his head. I felt awful...

My grandma and grandpa brought the candy launcher. It shot candy way up in the air, the kids got to run and collect as much as they could. This was the highlight of the party. It was pretty cool.

Some of the action shots of the kids fighting for the candy. I love how Colton is diving for the candy. He is a crazy kid.

Ready, Set, Launch the candy Grandma and Grandpa!! After the launch, we played games, ( mainly heads up stand up.) Then Grandma treated all the kids to a kids meal at Wendy's. We had so much fun. She is such a great grandma. The kids love her little parties. Sometimes I wonder who enjoys them more, the grand kids or grandma! Thanks MOM, Your the BEST!

The " Bennett" girls. We have so much fun together. There is never a dull moment when we get together! From left to Right, Dana, My Mom, Me, Shay, and Jami in front.

Last but not least, Randy and I were able to sit down and hang out with each other, even if it was for a short minute. He has been working on my parents rental. He is doing all the remodeling trying to get it done by the 15Th of Nov. He works his regular job during the day, hurries home to eat dinner and then is down at the house by 5:30 or 6. until about 1 or 1:30 . So we have not got to see each other all week long. It was a LONG week for both of us,so it was fun to have him home and join in on all the fun.
